A fun day trip to the Coast!

Yesterday after Kenny finished playing in second service we headed to the coast. Kenny, myself, Addison, Macy and Grammy and Papa (my parents) all piled into their suburban and went to play at the beach. We had lunch at Mo's, watched and chased the seagulls, played in the sand and then the girls finished the afternoon by learning to jump the waves with Daddy. This was a tradition in our family as I grew up. Mom would hold down the fort and all of our stuff while my Dad would hold our hands and walk right into the ocean. When the waves came towards us we would all JUMP as high as we could and most of the time fall right into the water. It was always so cold but sooo much fun. Kenny and the girls first started by going close to the water and then running away from the wave before it could catch them. They then removed their socks and shoes and rolled up their pants and waded into the water. At first the girls would get scared and Kenny would end up picking both of them up when the waves came but they did eventually build some courage and start jumping the waves. By the end they were both wanting to go again and again....but as a good mother I can only let them get so cold before pulling the plug on the fun .....I know, just call me party pooper. :) When they had changed their clothes into warm Jammies and were all buckled in their car seats ready to head home they both said with HUGE smiles on their faces... " THAT WAS FUUNNN" It really was a super fun day!

what great memories you are building with the kids! Isn't it great to live so close to a beach too?!
